The Crested Butte Retreat (The Retreat) was a very successful project which required two years to complete. We include pictures and details of this beautiful property to illustrate to interested buyers the type of work that we do and the level of craftsmanship attained.
The Crested Butte Retreat is an 11,500 sq. ft. property that was re-designed to become a high-end mountain lodge. We started with an existing structure that was built as a vacation home for multiple family owners. “This home was built in the early 1980’s. When we purchased, it was not in good shape and quite dated. The entire structure was gutted and we started with a fresh design.” The master plan moved interior walls, added new partial floors, changed the heating systems, and completely replaced the interior. The exterior was also updated but to a lesser extent. The result is a magnificent 10 bedroom, 12 bath “boutique lodge” with huge common spaces, all with soaring vaulted ceilings. The Retreat was also furnished and decorated by Greenstone.
As you can see from the pictures provided, every room has a distinct character and function. The extra large dining area and kitchen essentially contains its own living room with large, floor-to-ceiling, stone fireplace. This space was designed to accommodate 24 people for dinner. The wrought iron chandeliers, hand-made drapes, exquisite gourmet kitchen and beautiful antique furniture created an environment that instantly became the gathering center for guests staying at the Retreat.
The expansive great room also serves as a multi-purpose room accommodating corporate retreats. It includes its own movie/computer projector, buffet bar, custom built Finnish soapstone stove and balconies with views of Crested Butte ski area.
All 10 bedrooms are unique and each named after a local mountain. All were done in a variety of hardwoods, fireplace designs, and lighting designs. The bathrooms were all fitted with beautiful stone floors, walls, tubs and showers. Amenities include 6 hot tubs, two Finnish saunas, a massage room and a complete gym and fitness center.
The end result was the creation of the Crested Butte Retreat, considered a landmark property and business in Crested Butte.
